I have such a wide taste in music. Like seriously, if we've never talked music, we should. This live performance by Black Sabbath from 1970 is so amazing. Thanks to Greg Dohler for bringing it up in conversation over lunch today. Greg's a great photographer and friend, and it was great to commiserate about this awesome performance. What does this have to do with business? Black Sabbath was panned by the critics of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Rolling Stone said they were "Like Cream! But worse." But watch this film, and you'll see that from a performance point of view, they're amazing. They were operating on a different level and totally misunderstood by the prevailing opinions. Isn't that our dream as business owners? To press beyond, to be on the cutting edge of our industry? To innovate and grow? Final thought: if my dream as a business owner had a soundtrack, I'd definitely want Bill Ward playing the drums. Good gravy!

During my lessons on Sound Communication, I am often asked by students what a Non-Verbal Sound Conversation actually is. This excerpt from a now old film is the best example that can be given: Evident cultural barrier with "The Stranger", different technological means... and yet the Miracle happens... and is communicated through music, which technically is it also remains a code, exactly like another language, but which involves Emotions, Creativity, the Heart, and the Soul, not just the brain, because it is ART. #athenamusicandwellnesstherapy #MusicTherapy #MusicTherapyCourses #SoundConversation https://lnkd.in/gKuWcJna

https://lnkd.in/e-tpZjtU #Grave ; not as the final resting place of bodily remains, but as a thing of consequence --- a depth in a sequence of events, a lapse in reasoning perhaps? This is the #18thChapter of an #AntiNovel that attaches many elements: people, words, music, -- oh, music. #TateMcRae #Grave --- this is the second time a Tate McRae has been used as a introductionary element.

Still processing this trip to New York. 🤯 The amount of work that went into this show was incredible. My role was music supervisor, helping design & mix the show music. Finding the balance of songs that worked for PrettyLittleThing.com as a brand and also songs that worked for what Naomi wanted to represent. And of course I put 2 of my own music productions in there 😎🎛️ (tracks 3&4) What an amazing memory and such and incredible team I work with. Grateful 🙏🏼 https://lnkd.in/emN8sZHk

Take Five… just Take Five Dave Brubeck - Take Five (1959) The 1950s, a transformative period in the world of music, bore witness to the emergence of some of the most innovative sounds. Within this musical renaissance, Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" emerged, a piece that would go on to become one of the most recognized jazz tracks of all time. "Take Five" draws listeners into a realm of musical sophistication and innovation. Composed by Paul Desmond and performed by the Dave Brubeck Quartet, the track is renowned for its unusual 5/4 time signature, a departure from the standard meters commonly employed in jazz. This unique rhythm gives the composition its distinctive feel. The allure of "Take Five" isn't limited to its rhythm. The track's structure, which allows each band member to showcase their virtuosity, embodies the spirit of jazz improvisation, making each listening experience feel fresh and spontaneous. While "Take Five" may have been groundbreaking in its structure and sound, its impact extended far beyond the world of jazz enthusiasts. In the pantheon of jazz classics, "Take Five" holds a special place. It is a reminder of a time when boundaries were pushed, conventions were challenged, and the result was a piece of music that remains timeless in its appeal.
