Making preparations for career upon graduation could be challenging. Luckily, I had a consultation session with one of the career coaches in NTU and she recommended me to try out various virtual internship programmes and I just completed JPMorgan Chase's Asset Management ! In the simulation I: Gathered clients' key investment objectives, risk appetite, investment restrictions, and other relevant information to enable recommending a suitable investment solution Constructed suitable investment portfolios for two individuals based on their unique risk profiles Carried out quantitative fundamental analysis for two stocks and made a recommendation to clients based on their investment objectives Calculated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for a clients' investment portfolios There are more to come! As a first generation, nontraditional college student, mentorship is a critical component to academic and professional success. No person is an island. The earlier you lean into that cliché, the easier it is to help you foster relationships that can have profound potential to shape and transform your life. I am blessed with mentors, and their support is invaluable. The relationships sustain my mental health, are an anchor when I feel unsure, and provide a concerned ear when I simply need to vent. Therefore, when Miki Takeshita asked for New York Jobs CEO Council mentors, I said yes. As a former cohort apprentice at JPMorgan Chase, I feel this is a great addition to the program. Because mentorship works. In particular, it is so crucial for first generation students, who oftentimes find it more challenging to navigate and overcome the struggles and barriers to entry into various industries.
