Just came out of this great session. Thanks for the important work and shout out to EHDD and Jack Rusk for peer review on SE2050. Here are my takeaways: 1. Floor area has highest correlation with total GWP: build less! 2. Concrete and steel have higher GMP intensity than wood structures: material choices matter! 3. Standard deviations are very wide: data quality is still coarse / more, better data still needed! 4. Recommended limit for upfront structural embodied carbon: 350 kg CO2e/m2 5. Key factors influencing structural embodied carbon design: gross area; grid spacing; system selection; region; live load 6. Data harmonization is key moving forward to make sure we are all speaking the same data language.
