An important chapter in my life came to a close this week! It marked the end of an incredible career with Six Flags Entertainment Corp. It’s been a wild ride - pun intended! I could not have been more blessed to work with such an amazing group of individuals over the year's. So, I am officially looking for my next adventure that I hope to love just as much! 3️⃣ steps to becoming “lucky” in your career. Most of the executives I’ve spoken to, got their big opportunity by doing the little things right. Along their journey, they: 1. Took immense pride in everything attached to their name. 2. Continued to learn and develop themselves. 3. Accepted opportunities they didn’t feel “ready” for. Doing these 3 things for 10+ years led to creating relationships with the right people. Sometimes, we see executives and say: 
 “Mike (CMO) only got that job because he knows Jessica (CEO)” You’re absolutely right! What you don’t know is that Mike reported to Jessica for 5 years at a previous company. He never knew she was going to be a CEO one day. Jessica clearly saw something in Mike at that time, so she gave him an opportunity. When you get a few Jessica’s on your team, you get really “lucky.” The only way to get those relationships, is being so consistent that the right people notice and remember you. At that point, is it really luck?

Hats off to Adcorp... I started my journey with the Adcorp group a little over 2 years ago. To say the least, it has been great and rewarding to have a company invest more into you than you believed to be possible, the journey hasn't been the easiest. Let me take you back to the beginning. As an aspiring young man, an individual trying to navigate the routes to his successful career, who had been thrown into the deep end of the 'sales lifestyle' with absolutely no training or mentorship and growing up in a small town proved to have a major impact within my quest to be one of the greats. I started in a small company as a driver, delivering goods and equipment to industrial businesses within the area and was later pushed into sales role due to my personality and ability to converse with almost anyone. I had ups and downs throughout my journey, good days of selling and bad months with not reaching targets, however that never stopped me from pushing and giving it my all. Fast forward a few years, I had been through multiple industries and jobs seeking the opportunity for growth and chasing the trail of money, which inevitably led me to unemployment when the business I helped get started and ran shut their doors! This left me broken, questioning my every move and thought process that had possibly led me to this place. 4 months of having no income or job, I did whatever I could to keep my wife and I afloat. I woke up one morning, dropped my wife, an absolute gem and gift in my life, off at work wondering if I should send my CV out to recruitment agencies yet again. That day I received a call from BLU, at first I thought they had found me work and thus I was extremely excited to be interviewed, little did I realise that they were seeking to employ me. So I got dressed up that morning in my smartest shirt and pants and looked at my smart shoes which were not in the greatest of conditions but would still work for the time being, hopefully nobody would look under the table at my shoes. The whole way through my interview I kept wondering when I would hear about this company and what they were offering only to find out at the end of my interview, with all my excitement, I missed the part where they mentioned that they wanted to employ me as a business development consultant for BLU. After a series of stressful interviews, a total of 3 to be exact, I found out that I was successful. To my amazement, I didn't believe I would get this job considering my lack of knowledge of just exactly what I would be 'selling', I was informed that a few particular individuals thought very highly of me and decided to roll the dice and give me the opportunity to learn and grow. So thank you to all those at Adcorp BLU, Carlos Rosa, Anthony Joss and Hayden Johnson for investing in me and developing me to who I am today. You see, this is what my company does best, we invest in our clients and develop new ways to improve ourselves and them.

I'm so excited to start my new role at Ashby! I had the very good fortunate to be able to be very picky about my next role and I told myself I would only take a job that I was excited about (since it would mean giving up the SAHM life I have been living for a bit). There are many reasons why Ashby was the right fit for me, but here are some of them: 1. Working with a product I could get behind and that I knew had legs (as much fun as layoffs are, I'd rather not) 2. Co-workers who are both competent and nice 3. The application process itself - this was a big one! The JD showed they had realistic expectations for the role (they were not trying to hire someone who could do all of accounting and finance by themselves). They stated upfront the steps in the interview process and the comp expectations (so refreshing to have my time respected like this). It also mentioned who would not be a good fit for this role, which I loved to see. They really showed a thoughtful hiring process which made me very confident that I would be set up for success here. Of course, this also showcased the capabilities of their awesome product (see #1 above!) 4. Finally, great benefits. Even if you do not intend to take advantage of certain benefits (health insurance, paternity/maternity leave, etc) the fact that a company invests so heavily in them shows they really do care about the wellbeing of their employees. Can't wait to hit the ground running!

I want to thank my awesome network for helping me land my new BDR role at Mindtickle! After 7 months of interviewing for leadership and IC roles (Competing with thousands of applicants) 😱, I have learned so much and met so many talented and wonderful people. I've also learned from 50+ orgs of business-critical issues that are top of mind for Sales Teams: - Building repeatable outbound pipeline - Revenue Forecasting accuracy - Workflow efficiency/wasted motions - Consistent performance/quota attainment of existing reps - Ramping up new reps faster Most of these teams have no tech stacks in place or are using siloed systems with insufficient usage. I've been an end user and admin of content management (Highspot), onboarding (WorkRamp), and call recording solutions (Gong). There are pluses to using all three. In my experience, Reps become overwhelmed with too many systems, too many clicks, too much time jumping back and forth. CFO's at previous companies I've been at would obess over usage and overhead cost.
