I'd like to introduce my business idea, "hey... listen" I've talked at length about the importance of #communication and #listening in the workplace, in order to develop a positive #workplaceculture in organizations. I think it is time for me to officially offer my services as a subcontractor to help companies revitalize their internal culture in order to reduce churn, increase productivity and boost morale. I hear of so many people struggling in their jobs, saying that they feel like what they are doing doesn't matter. Or, that no matter what, they never seem to be able to get caught up on work due to being pulled in too many directions. My approach will be to interview each employee at a company, asking them deep questions about their jobs, with a few examples being: - What does your average day look like? - What do you love about your job? - What do you hate about your job? - What policies at your company really work? - What policies are holding people back? - Do you feel like your contributions matter? - Is feedback important to you? - Are there people in charge that perhaps should not be, or are there people that aren't in charge that should be? I will interview each employee at least once, for 1-2 hours. I will take detailed notes, and start compiling a database to find common themes amongst what I hear. The important part of this is that upper management will not be involved in my investigation in any way, beyond me presenting my findings at the end. The individual employee data will not be shared with management, only the overall message that I have gathered from everyone I have interviewed. My goal is to get a detailed, honest overview of the culture of the company, and then I will create an outline for management to put into action to create positive change for everyone. People are a company's most important asset. The happiness of your staff will make or break your company. hey... listen is my way of bringing positive change to the corporate world. I would love to sign on my first clients to get started!

"How Are You?" In the fast paced world of business, it's easy to get caught up in the rush and forget the basics. One of those basics for me is the simple question: "How are you?" I make it a point to ask this on every business development call, and here's why. For me, it's not just a formality, it's about emphasising the human element in our interactions. In an age dominated by technology and AI, taking a moment to connect on a personal level makes a world of difference. Often, this question opens an avenue for people to talk and start building genuine relationships. It’s amazing how a simple inquiry about someone's well-being can lead to deeper conversations and stronger connections. It reminds us that business isn’t just about transactions, it's about being a person and understanding the people we work with. By showing that we genuinely care, we pave the way for trust and cooperation. After all, successful business relationships are built on more than just deals, they’re built on mutual respect and genuine interest in each other's well being. Very interesting what many people don't think about: At what level is the match between an employee and the company where they work? In simple terms, if I don't like working in a specific company, does that make me a bad person? ❗️The answer is unequivocal: no! There are many types of companies, and of course, it all starts with the founder. There are no bad or good companies or management methods. There is the one that suits you and the one that doesn't. The sooner you understand this, the faster you will soar. That's it. Sometimes an employee comes in, intelligent, talented, with an excellent resume, but it doesn't work out. It's as if something is not clicking at a chemistry level. And indeed, that's the case! There are different types of people and different types of companies (brands). Let's talk more simply. Everyone likes different brands of cars, phones, bags, anything. Have you ever wondered why? The answer is simple: the culture and values of the brand resonate with you, and now you are ready to argue passionately that "the best people drive such cars, and everything else is a compromise." And people look at you and don't understand, while some actively start supporting. This is finding "your company." In business and hiring, it's just as simple. If you listen to your manager and don't think he's an idiot, a moron, etc., then most likely, you share the views and values of the company. You should want to work, move mountains, and be passionate about your job. Believe me, this is a healthy and normal state for a healthy person. And when there is internal resistance, misunderstanding... it's better to leave right away; you'll part ways eventually anyway, believe me, such an employee is not needed by the company either :) Don't waste your time; look for the company you would like to see as your own, and you will be surprised at what you are capable of, working side by side with like-minded enthusiasts in a positive sense. 😁

This week at work we're interviewing for a role that's the most senior within our company [a contract role while our Head of Strategy & Growth prepares for parental leave], and we're weaving neuroinclusivity in because my GOD we're sick of recruitment and hiring processes excluding neurodivergent folks who would've been *such* an asset for the company if they could JUST get past the BS of; 🙄 video applications [excruciating for introverts], and, 😅 interview questions that measure on speed, instead of IQ/EQ, and, 😞 no consideration for particular accommodations that might help a person thrive in that interview, and subsequently, the role itself This was the email we sent out to our shortlist on December 22nd, and we've sent ALL interview questions to them prior to their interview ... because we don't want to see how "fast" a person can be, we want to see their depth. We want to interview on depth, not processing speed, and rapid processing speed. From our Founder, Cherie, "small business ownership is - hands down - the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, but being the change I wanna see in this world? ... it makes all o' the small business "hard" *so* completely worthwhile".
