🪛⚙ More sustainable maker spaces for startup teams and all makers➡ One way to achieve this is by applying the principles of circular design and reusing materials. We met this week to discuss what these principles look like in practice and what new practices can be applied by the coordinators of makerspaces. The webinar 🧑💻 "Applying circular economy principles in makerspaces" has connected all the partnering organizations in the Baltic Sea Region. The event also presented the results of an international survey of workshop communities carried out at the beginning of autumn. In the survey for makerspace communities respondents were found to be fairly knowledgeable about circular economy, but there is still room for improvement. Budget constraints and lack of knowledge and training were identified as the main barriers to inventing circular practices in makerspaces. 🟧Tech-Park Kaunas, which has joined the international Interreg Baltic Sea Region initiative #CircularSpaces, will soon be developing a circular economy training program for makerspace communities. #makerspace #circular #prototyping #circulareconomy
