I’ve written the book that I needed to read when I started teaching...and definitely the book that I needed when I started leading on T&L. I break down all the essential research behind the science of learning and make it succinctly accessible for everyone from trainees to school leaders, as a ‘pick up and put down’ guide. Retrieval, spacing, interleaving, questioning, assessment, feedback, learning v performance, cognitive load, dual coding, metacognition are all covered in specific chapters. Every chapter covers... ☑️Teacher 1.0: An overview of the things we’ve been doing for years that are at odds with the science of how we actually learn. ☑️What does the research say: A succinct look at two pieces of essential research that every teacher needs to understand on this topic. ☑️Teacher 2.0: Four practical ways to implement this research into your classroom practice the very next day. A great read Jon. I also wish I had it when I started teaching, but the research and material wasn’t as rich as it is now. You bring it all together in one book!

1yJon- I use this book with some of my schools, who take a chapter at a time and study it- put it into practice and then report back on the successes of the ideas/professional practice improvements they have seen. Really, really useful! I agree- I needed this book as a practitioner when I started teaching! xx Thank you! xx
