CEO at Life Floor

Sometimes (or perhaps every time) when you or your company get mentioned in a trade journal or newspaper companies contact you wanting to see if you want a framed copy to hang up and commemorate the occasion. Most of the time, I get these emails weeks or months (or sometimes up to a year) after the actual publication and never before have I really considered it. Yesterday, in the middle of a meeting with our leadership team, I got one of those emails. I was looking for a different email to reference on the call, but this one caught my eye because it had a beautiful picture I recognized, our Life Floor booth floor design done by Kelsi Goss introducing our new mural product. As I took a closer look, I realized that this picture was not just from an insert of Aquatics International, but the actual cover of this month's publication. Meeting was paused. The company was notified. Despite the fact that the issue had come out 1 week prior and we had received multiple inquiries because of it, no one on our team had yet realized, Life Floor was the cover! Many exclamations ensued. For many years since starting this company, we felt like a little guy in the industry. It took us a long time to get even an unpaid mention in a magazine like AI. It took us 5 years before we won an award. I can say it took us 13 years before we got the cover of a magazine devoted just to our product. As one of my co-founders likes to say: "Show them something they have never seen before and eventually people will take notice." We're grateful for the recognition and hungry to keep showing the aquatics industry something beautiful and safe to transform aquatic environments for years to come.
