If you’re like me, there’s really no stop to grilling season. I’ll be out there in the middle of our New England winters when I can be. The data, however, says that we are in the middle of true grilling season with a peak approaching next week and throughout the month of July. This means a lot of great food but also more opportunities for grilling fires that can lead to both structure fires and injuries. NFPA 1, Fire Code, provides specific guidelines regarding the use of grills, hibachi, and similar devices to ensure the safety of occupants and the protection of property. Read about the importance of proper use and storage of grills and cooking equipment as well as recent updates to NFPA 1 in Kristin B.'s NFPA blog to ensure safe use of grills and similar cooking equipment: https://lnkd.in/etSKAste And for more personal use and for family and friends be sure to check out NFPA's Grilling Safety web page which includes stats/data, safety tips, and additional resources.
