With the calendar full of conferences, we often debate whether they are worth the time and money. When I go to a good event, I am reminded just how valuable and productive it can be—my experience at Cannes Lions last month was one great example. With that in mind, On July 28-29, Athletes Unlimited will host our third annual Innovation Summit, where we bring together business leaders in women's sports, investors, athletes, brand and media partners. Here are things I have loved about our summit and look forward to again this year (these are some things that make for great business events in general). First, most of the speakers are there the entire time. Whenever I speak at an event, I try very hard to be there for as much of the event as possible--I don't think anyone should just come in, speak, and leave. Second, AU pro athletes are there for much of the event. It's great that we hear from pro athletes at some events, but we all benefit from more athletes in attendance when not on the stage. Third, while most attendees and speakers are already involved in women's pro sports--we try to include many who are not. Let's not just talk to ourselves. We need to include people who are new to the space and grow it. What are your thoughts on the keys to a successful summit? This year's event includes attendees from ESPN, Wasserman, Guggenheim Partners, EY, Gatorade, Golden State Valykries, Tipt Ventures, 35 Ventures, Vox Media, Refried Apparel, B Partners, Fanatics, Women's Sports Foundation, Earlystone and Morgan Stanley. Our all-star lineup of speakers includes Sheryl Swoopes, Sarah Spain, Elizabeth Lindsey David Rone, Courtney Jeffries, Diane Gotua, Danette Leighton, Caroline Fitzgerald, Amanda Anderson, Sarah Francis, Kimberly Veale, Ami Galani, David Friedman, Sandra L. Richards, Mark Litos, Keri Lockett, Rachel Fleitell, Pam Wasserstein, Charlotte North, Alisha Childress, Haylie McCleney, Theresa Plaisance, and Molly McCage For more information and to request an invitation, go to: https://lnkd.in/eS3DdQGc
Excited to attend and represent Women's Elite Rugby
Jon, it sounds like a fantastic lineup at the Athletes Unlimited summit! How can someone get involved or contribute?
Love it, Jon. Looks like a really high-end experience (speakers, venue, etc.). Only advice I have – which you're probably already doing – is to go deep with the creation of pre-event and post-event assets, so that the summit's content can live on...and on...and on...for years not just weeks or months 😊.
Love it! Please let me know how #NSMN can help!
Looking forward to seeing you Jon and the rest of the AU team
It’s going to be another incredible summit. Can’t wait.
Smart & Important conversations to be had here. Very cool.
Great work congratulations 👏
Nice!
Would love to know how #manattsports can get involved!
