This is...really interesting. Joe Tessitore on his own is a great sportscaster. I think he has a really impressive grasp on in-game storytelling. However, we've seen time after time people with no pro wrestling play-by-play experience or limited product knowledge struggle to make the transition into that industry. Why's that? Well... Calling pro wrestling play-by-play is *totally* different than traditional sports play-by-playing. Having to hit essential story beats that line up perfectly with the in-ring action, suspending disbelief, and losing yourself within the context of character motivation is really difficult. While traditional sports play-by-play requires impeccable ability to anticipate what is to come and and relay it to the audience, pro wrestling play-by-play necessitates all of that while simultaneously putting over the "why" of the story. It's entirely possible Joe has an extremely knowledgable pro wrestling background (and if he doesn't, I have no doubt he will prepare extensively). But it is a very, very tough world to transition into from a broadcaster's perspective. Almost every time it has happened, it has been unsuccessful. Wishing him the best nonetheless! When you launch a project, you don't always look in larger terms. You're so focused on getting it off the ground, the outside the box ideas don't exactly come into the fold right away. And that's okay! Since we started "The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy" almost three years ago now, Matt and I set small goals of growth. Even if our downloads/streams didn't hit our particular benchmark one week, we'd pivot to other ways of distribution or marketing the product. In the last year, we've recognized that the podcast itself is truly just the baseline product, and there are opportunities to engage beyond it that not only get people more personally invested, but also, monetize through avenues most don't explore. For example: Matt and Jeff do signings multiple times a month at conventions, so why not add a live show to the local market with it, adding a personalized touch to the product? Organizing live events was not something I ever anticipated to do learn to do, but I'm glad I have, as it has helped our product grow, put more money in our pockets, and provides a great experience for Matt's lifelong fans, and listeners of our show! In New Jersey July 13? We're bringing another one to the stage at 90's WrestlingCon in Atlantic City, my first show in my home state! #LiveEvents #Podcasting #Monetize #HardyBoyz #WWE #TNA #AttitudeEra #AtlanticCity

I’m a full-time freelancer, and am currently working on seven different jobs. It’s okay to take a day to decompress. We all need it. A Friday afternoon in Asbury Park always does the soul well. Happy weekend, everyone!

I can’t even imagine what I would have done for this opportunity as a kid! If you have a child even remotely interested in sportscasting, apply!
SNY wants to give your child (aged 9-12) the chance of a lifetime, to call play-by-play in the SNY booth with Gary, Keith and Ron! Enter the SNY Kidcaster Contest presented by HSS at SNY.TV/KIDCASTER.

I was lucky enough to be in the rare group of people who knew exactly what they wanted to do when they were five years old. So with that, I was ACHING for opportunities to get hands on as a teenager, looking to talk sports on-air anywhere I could. I wish I had a platform like LiveTake back then! I’ve been hosting some content the past few months over there, and it’s a blast. Short-form sports talk that is super engaging and LIVE! It’s a great space I’d highly recommend for young or inexperienced individuals who want to test their sports talk repertoire. Just download the app, create an account, and you’re ready to go. Who is up for a little debate this week? 👀 #Sportscasting #LiveTake #SportsJournalism #Broadcasting
