Did You Know? 🤔 One tried & true strategy that beauty brands use during #AwardsSeason is "Get the Looks." When you see social posts or media coverage of a celebrity wearing Lancôme makeup or Pureology haircare, it's often the case that a brand facilitated it. Working with celebrities comes with high price tags, so awards season is one of the best ways for brands to be efficient with budget. By partnering with the makeup artist or hair stylist behind the look, beauty brands can associate with on-brand talent through the hands of the expert. These partnerships can be hit or miss. It's a tactic that brands have used for many years, which runs the risk of feeling tired - but when it's done right, it can be meaningful and exciting. I was excited to read that one of my client's Get the Look partnerships was heralded by Business of Fashion as an example of the way to do these right. "Take L’Oréal’s partnership with Elle Fanning. Makeup artist Erin Ayanian Monroe didn’t just post pics of her fresh-faced look, she also included stories holding the brand’s Infallible Blush and Elnett hairspray next to Fanning’s face. It should have been cloying, but Fanning is so endearing that the whole thing felt fun, like friends shooting a TikTok during a sleepover." I'll take it! 🤗 What's your take on red carpet beauty this season? Photo Credit: @erinayanianmonroe

Elle fanning is a gem

Love this approach! Question: do brands pay the makeup artist and hairstylist to use their products? I would imagine there is some form of compensation being exchanged, but unlike influencer collabs I rarely see glam teams disclosing this. Would love to hear your thoughts!!

Like how Charlotte Tilbury sneaked in a new lipsticj preview with Jessica Chastain’s Emmy look.

I love award shows and thought the looks between the Golden Globes and Emmys were great. I do wish that women didn't feel the need to get so much work done to their faces - there are some celebs that are practically unrecognizable. But I guess that's the pressure of Hollywood unfortunately. Elle Fanning (a GA girl) looked gorgeous!
