I used to think if I took the food out of its container before throwing it away, it would decompose in landfill. NOT! Food waste contributes to 30% of landfill, and emits 60% of GHG. It is a HUGE contributor to the problem. Thankfully, state mandates are requiring that businesses that produce 2 tons of food waste weekly recycle remaining food scraps. So first: reduce food use and only produce what's need. Second: donate, repurpose, upcycle what isn't used. Third: If you've exhausted the first 2, then recycle it, and ideally in a way that allows it to go back into the earth. That's what Table2Groundโข does.
