We have been working with Warwick Glass to help move them from a paper-based system to a digital solution. Take a read of the challenges they faced and the solution we were able to develop. Challenge – Warwick Glass wanted to improve their customer enquiry process and increase visibility of all enquiries. The current solution was paper based and difficult to see and track progress. Solution – We helped to map out the customer journey to first understand this process and then see how we could digitalise and improve this. We developed them an app to help build quotes, hold customer data, create purchase orders and providing reporting capabilities. Result – The customer experience improved and Warwick Glass saw a 75% improvement in calculating and providing quotes. Visibility increased and they had a full audit trail of enquires that came in and what converted to a sale. A couple of weeks ago I had an inspiring conversation about pricing strategies. The topic was about differences between short-term and long-term pricing strategies. As for me, the long-term pricing strategy focuses on the elasticity of demand, and the price of a product and service should be set so the elasticity is equal to -1. With the inelastic demand a business should raise prices, and with highly elastic demand the business should decrease prices. According to the short-term pricing strategy there are much more tools and fluctuations from this rule. Prices can be used for a competitive pressure, a source of a liquidity or an inventory management tool. Also, A/B tests could be used to determine the consumers' willingness to pay. Sometimes the profit optimisation is an obvious but is not the best option.
