Enjoyed sharing some thoughts on how I look at investing in AI first companies with my friend Karan Karia. He’s starting a newsletter and podcast series - “AI renaissance”, I highly recommend you check it out for daily takes on this space. A few notes on our discussion below: 1/ Easily accessible AI models are a game changer 🚀 Previously, complex data pipelines were needed to build models. Now, APIs and simple interfaces make it possible for anyone to interact with these powerful tools. 2/ Focus on the future 🤖 - When considering investing in AI startups, look for companies that are building applications on top of the latest and greatest models. The space is moving fast, so adaptability is key. 3/ Foundational strengths are key for founders 🧠 Look for founders with a deep understanding of the problem they are solving and the industry they are targeting. Personally, I look for technical co-founders that are comfortable adapting to new models and technologies as they emerge. 4/ AI is disrupting everything 🤯 In the next 5-10 years, AI is expected to make its way into nearly every industry. Companies that don't embrace AI risk falling behind. 🤖 5/ Using AI is becoming the standard 📈 Just like using the internet has become commonplace, using AI to complete tasks will likely become the standard in many industries within the next five years. Not using AI could be considered malpractice in some fields. 🩺 You wouldn’t go check out an encyclopedia after Google came out! But verify your results
Excited to share the very first episode of the AI Renaissance Podcast with my good friend Aman Khan, PM at Arize AI and Angel Investor! In this episode, we talk about the state of the industry, its evolution over the past decade, and the current state of angel investing in AI companies. This was a great conversation, one that I got to learn a great deal from. Please give it a listen and follow the AI Renaissance podcast on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, or wherever you listen to your podcasts! https://lnkd.in/gDc5Y_bb

There are ones that are being thoughtful about it and steering clear of investments that could cause harm. And then there are some that are wading into them and don’t care at all.” Darian Shirazi https://lnkd.in/enFpNVKA
