For my senior year we were asked to share our internship experience and any tips we have for our peers and there is no better place then on LinkedIn. As a finance major we're required to have practicum experience and for mine I was lucky enough to work at UBS Financial Services. I was able to gain real world experience in wealth management and having a first hand look at the industry I plan to transition into after graduation. Tips that I have are talked about a lot but definitely important. *When applying for an internship don't limit yourself. Don't be afraid to reach for a job that seems "unattainable" rejection is all apart of the process. *Don't rush it. It may seem like just another assignment to check off but picking the right one and getting good experience is worth the wait. *Connect with hiring managers on LinkedIn and go to networking events. Getting your name out early and showing your level of interest goes a long way for current or future job openings. Everyone's experiences are different but its important to go out and explore the position most important to you. I'm happy to talk further with anyone with internship questions.

Students prefer banking jobs in bulge brackets NOT boutiques. There are many back door entries into bulge bracket banks (BBs) if you fail to land a graduate job. To secure a graduate job in a BB, students typically need a summer internship at one, the year before. So apply for these summer internships early. And if you miss out, make sure you have been applying to boutique banks concurrently. You can easily work there for 2/3 years, learn the skills and make the transfer to BBs.
