Watch this interesting video (link: https://lnkd.in/exftrXnX) to see how Formula 1 cars have changed and improved over the years. The video explains how the special parts installed, help the cars go faster and use less fuel. They also talk about hybrid power units, which are super smart engines that make the cars more eco-friendly. It's not just about going fast; it's like a mix of science and art to make the cars better on the racetrack.
Among the myriad innovations showcased in the video, my personal favourite is the evolution of aerodynamics in Formula 1 cars. I find it really amazing how they've made the cars more streamlined and efficient in the air. Witnessing the intricate dance of airfoils, diffusers, and the ever-shifting pursuit of optimal downforce is a testament to the precision and ingenuity of F1 engineering. The way these advancements enhance performance, grip, and overall aerodynamic efficiency is truly mesmerising.
From what I saw, F1 cars have become a lot more than just speed machines. They're like high-tech marvels, pushing the limits of what's possible in racing. This video takes you into the world of motorsport innovation, showing how each lap is a journey of excellence in speed, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology. It's pretty cool to see how much they've changed and how smart these cars have become! 🚗✨ #F1Innovation#MotorsportEvolution#AeroExcellence
Is a nerve impulse faster than an F1 race car?
It speeds up to 340 km/h — what odds does our nervous system have? Surprisingly, the nerve impulse falls short.
The speed of a nerve impulse ranges from 270 to 288 km/h (according to various sources).
However, data transmission within nerve cells is significantly faster, reaching up to 120 m/s (432 km/h). This process is quicker because it's less energy-consuming and requires fewer "auxiliary processes."
Only specialized racing projects can reach these speeds.
Shamir will continue as BWT Alpine F1® Team’s Optical Performance Partner to continue to gather useful data, but mostly because we love the challenge!
Only Formula 1 demands so much precision from the vision performance of its participants, cramming so much information into their eyes so quickly, forcing their brains to operate at incomprehensible processing speeds. And to us, that sounds like the perfect challenge for an optical performance company. No other sport requires participants to find and focus on a gaze point, then switch to a new gaze point, so quickly, over and over again, while operating at an elevated heart rate and under severe physical effort in all weather and light conditions.
Wherever there is a optical challenge like this, Shamir will be there - and we will then develop our solutions that will benefit anybody who needs corrective lenses.
