Early-career young adults from time to time ask me about achieving success. My usual first response is why? Don't you see success comes with responsibilities? Almost everything worth achieving is difficult and comes with pressure and stress. These days, giving back to the next generation, as so many generous, kind, and experienced mentors have done for me, is one of my favorite hobbies. As Americans, we enjoy a big country with immense opportunities. Plenty of people achieve career success only to experience personal failure. The Bible asks an interesting question in Mathew 16:26 "What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?" Perhaps we should start the conversation with what success is, and how to achieve it, followed by how to enjoy the fruit of success. In this latest long-format discussion with Shaurya Baruah, we attempted to share life lessons of success and leadership. I am sharing this YouTube podcast as an invitation for you to share your life lessons in the comment section. https://lnkd.in/g7bPTCfi

John, the podcast is indeed an eye opener for me. There are many lessons I am taking home particularly your 5 minute rule and one big idea with 3 sub ideas. For me, planning is everything, short term, mid term and long term and then tracking it in a manner that we don’t lose sight of the long term goals while focusing on here and now actions.
