Ok my mistake. Voting is not so specific in the Constitution but congress clarified the subject with the passing of an illegal immigration reform act in 1996. Non- citizens can not vote in federal elections but may vote locally for such things as school boards and local leaders . Most states do not allow non citizens to vote at all. I guess the dems are going after those states but it shoukd be clarified for tge American people. Of course we all know the strategy here. The dens want to fill local positions with protégé of the Left and influence locally for their socialist agenda. Then these local politicians can move up the ladder to higher office with some rising to congress and beyond.

This is a gross misrepresentation of the issue. Ots already on the Constitution that only citizens can vote in federal elections. Non-citzens are allowed to vote locally. I agree that this should be changed but let's tell the truth to the American people instead of spreading or creating falsehoods and half truths! How is this even debatable? If you don’t agree that you must be a citizen to vote you are not doing your sworn duty to uphold the US constitution. Everyone voting no should be impeached, thrown out of office.

3wUS/American Citizens Votes US Elections from other Nations, & Votes there as Legal Residents. If One can prove that they are legally in the USA as a Legal, Tax Paying Resident & captured on the States' Electoral Register, then that should be Right enough to Vote on Legal grounds as a Legal Resident, Paying Taxes there also. Hence, Citizenship alone shouldn't be the criteria, as Citizenship also results from Naturalization & Legally Residency Status over time too. ~ All this would likely present further Legal debates & Tussle between States & Federal Constitutional Requirements ahead. Legally Working, & Tax Paying Residents should have Voting Rights too. ~ It appears OK to Segment Local, States & Federal Elections, but Issued Resident Permits are by Feds, & Taxes paid Locally & via States all do go to the Feds/IRS, directly/ indirectly... Right ?
