The Pickering Pearce team has recently worked with a leading City law firm as they seek new ways to approach legacy governance structures, practice group leadership and remuneration assessments. With direct input from 30 selected firms across the 2023 UK Top100, the initial research phase was designed to ensure the firm’s current leadership team was aware of the trends across peer firms and had access to the right case studies and references. We were excited to see from our interviews and research that many firms are actively reinventing and refreshing their governance structures - not just the people within the structure, but the structure itself - while also incorporating factors influencing succession planning, diversity, and the sharing of leadership responsibility across the partnership.
