Speed & Scale is a national bestseller! I’m inspired by everyone picking up the book, reading and writing me with their questions and reactions, and pushing their communities, industries, and employers to decarbonize. This all started 15 years ago with a challenge from my teenage daughter. There is so much work ahead, but we know now that we *can* turn the tide on climate change. @SpeedandScale is for those who run toward problems, challenge the status quo, and boldly invent new futures. The actions we take matter. How we show up—and engage—will make the difference between a habitable and uninhabitable planet.
John Doerr Great book, I learned so much. Thank you! It’s amazing what people are already out there doing, the technologies that already exist, and also how wildly unaware we (the average person like me) are about what’s happening around us. I feel enlightened and inspired to dig deeper and take action…. And to teach my kids to do the same. So glad I was introduced to your book on the Tim Ferriss podcast!
Problems can be the ideal opportunity to stop seeing uncertainty as a threat and turn it into an opportunity for development. I can't wait to read!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. Change cannot happen without an actionable plan. As you say, projecting out 80 years is too difficult to care about. You have constructed a great road map here. I hope people tune in and get started.
Congrats! Cant wait to read
That sounds interesting. I will read it this weekend 📚
John Doerr Many thanks for the outstanding book! It is a must read to understand a possible path to achieve net zero ambition. What I liked the most about this book is, it is easy to read, to the point and supported by many first person accounts by who's who in climate change field.
John, as an original investor in K&P 1,2&3, I am glad the partnership has thrived through the decades and that you (and Brook Byers) and all the others are still carrying on the tradition. ,

2ySomeone once asked me, “Do you know when the best time is to plant a tree?” My response, “Hmm. Not sure.” He said, “30yrs ago. The next best time… today.” Thanks John for helping us and hopefully, helping us to get started!
