Doc. 117-161 - Rules of the House of Representatives (for the 118th Congress) https://lnkd.in/gidXsB9K   [excerpt] PREFACE      The House Rules and Manual contains the fundamental source material for parliamentary procedure used in the House of Representatives: the Constitution of the United States; applicable provisions of Jefferson's Manual; Rules of the House (as of the date of this preface); provisions of law and resolutions having the force of Rules of the House; and pertinent decisions of the Speakers and other presiding officers of the House and Committee of the Whole interpreting the rules and other procedural authority used in the House of Representatives.      The rules for the One Hundred Eighteenth Congress were adopted on January 9, 2023, when the House agreed to House Resolution 5. In addition to a series of changes to various standing rules, House Resolution 5 included separate free-standing orders constituting procedures to be followed in the One Hundred Eighteenth Congress. Explanations of the changes to the standing rules appear in the annotations following each rule in the text of this Manual.

ComPAct is the European Commission's first ever comprehensive set of actions to support the modernisation of national administrations and to strengthen their cross-country collaboration so that they can address common challenges together. The Cities for Sustainable Public Finances (CSPF), managed by KDZ, welcomes ComPAct, adopted in October 2023, whose aims align closely with our own. In particular, aiding civil servant mobility to share good practices is key to the CSPFs ethos of knowledge sharing within Europe. My chapter "Prime Ministerial Media Advisers: Demystifying the Spin Doctor" explores the role of media advisers to prime ministers and the forces solidifying it. The chapter uses Swedish evidence and offers a practice-oriented analysis that emphasizes the ordinary, the habitual and regular, instead of what is out of the ordinary.
