Already ten years. It’s hard to imagine a full decade has passed since I defended my PhD dissertation at ESSEC Business School in front of family and friends - and after re-reading my thesis I’m more grateful than ever for the patience and indulgence of my supervisor Marie Laure SALLES and my committee (Philippe Lorino, Eero Vaara, Sigrid Quack and Olivier Borraz) 😅 Here is an observation that is simultaneously trite and important: what makes or breaks the academic experience is the people. Although this is the case today, it was especially true during the PhD, where those formative years were marked by close-knit friendships and demanding yet engaged professors. From the first day of meeting our perpetually cheerful and warm program assistant Lina Prevost, I had the privilege of learning from and being surrounded by wonderful people. I was particularly fortunate to have Marie-Laure as a supervisor, whose support and mentorship left an indelible imprint: to this day, my writing features liberal usage of em dashes and terms such as “striking”, “fluidity” and “genealogy”. I received a lot during those five years, and I aim to pay it forward for the next generation(s). Thank you to all those who contributed to making those years not just formative, but transformative. Onward!

All the way with you in the liberal usage of em dashes — not to mention the rest.
