🍔 Engaging with McDonald's Vision: Meeting CEO Chris Kempczinski 🍔 It was an honor to attend a "View from the top" session at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, featuring McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski and moderated by Dean Matthew J. Slaughter . The event held special significance, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Ray Kroc's inspirational visit at Tuck Some of the insights from the interactions with Chris included : Adapting to diverse markets: How the company fits the McDonalds brand and menu for every country (like the iconic Maharaja Mac in India) 👑 Data-driven decision making: The company analyzes a staggering 65 million+ daily transactions to inform strategic choices. 💵 Asset-light model: Model of not owning anything, its all the suppliers, distributors and franchisees 🧑🍳 Rooted in values: Focus on the 5 values of McDonalds (Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family) in every aspect of the business. 👨🏻💼 Menu innovation: Menu items evolve based on customer preferences and what sells, so if you want something to be there, buy it for sure 😉 Long-term vision: As a CEO its more important to focus on where the company should go in the next 3-5 years than being involved in constant decision making for the firm. 📈 The session was certainly a "I'm Lovin' it" one with the Mcdonalds food options during the session and because of the shoutout he gave to our operations class. ❤️ I was a fan of the movie "The Founder" and it felt surreal to meet Chris in person and learn from his wisdom.
