14 months, an endless array of projects, and countless hours of dedication - that's what it took to earn my Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology. As it turns out - The most important project in life is "YOU". Every assignment, every discussion, and every collaboration was a step towards understanding that minding my OWN business can open doors that were NEVER meant to open for me. Strategic Leadership became more than a term; it was a commitment to guiding myself and others towards a shared vision. Business Management evolved from a task to a tailored approach to creating efficiency and effectiveness in various projects. Project Management was never about simply meeting deadlines; it was about asking, "Why NOT?" instead of "Why?" and realizing - if its STILL on your mind it's probably WORTH taking a risk. It’s been a little over a week since I graduated from UCLA Anderson School of Management with my MBA, specializing in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, and I'm filled with gratitude for the vibrant experiences I’ve had over the last two years. It’s hard to capture my journey in a single post, but here are a few top experiences and learnings from my MBA: • Capstone Project: Working with an amazing team of diverse thinkers on my MBA capstone project was incredibly rewarding. This experience deepened my understanding of innovation in the medical devices industry and healthcare. As someone passionate about solving zero-to-one problems, the capstone experience was a highlight. Further, it was truly humbling to share proud moments with the team on winning Knapp Venture Competition and Entrepreneurial Excellence Capstone Award. • Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone: I have consciously pushed myself to step out of my comfort zone, engage in difficult conversations and embrace the ups and downs of the program. It was challenging but learning to embrace change and uncertainty has been crucial in developing resilience and fueling my personal and professional growth. • Collaborative Learning: It has been amazing experience to have worked with brilliant minds throughout my MBA and working with diverse teams taught me the value of different perspectives and the importance of effective communication. Next Steps 🌟: As I move forward, I am eager to leverage my MBA learnings to make an impact in the Tech industry. I am thrilled to announce that I completed my MBA at Columbia Business School last weekend—a journey that has been surreal, incredibly rewarding, and life-changing over the past two years. This milestone feels almost dreamlike, a testament to the diverse and enriching courses that have profoundly shaped my understanding and abilities. One standout experience was the Management Consulting Lab (MCL) with Joe Timko and Toos Daruvala, where I had the privilege of working with Latino-led entrepreneurial firms in the U.S. Applying my consulting skills in such real-world settings has significantly broadened my perspective. Esohe Omoruyi and Michael Brown's Digital Disruption and Technology Transformation course gave me in-depth insights into navigating digital changes across various industries, further improving my strategic acumen. In Dan Wang's Technology Strategy course, I explored the strategic management of technology, investigating how to commercialize innovations and respond to disruptive changes. Mabel Abraham's Power, Influence, and Networks course was particularly transformative, equipping me with the critical tools to map organizational power dynamics and exercise influence effectively. Reflecting on this journey, I am immensely grateful to my professors, including Gaia Marchisio, Modupe Akinola, and others, who have been pivotal in my growth. My heartfelt thanks extend to the CBS Africa Business Club, Henry Obih, Earl Simpkins, and John Mabry, PMP, whose support has been a cornerstone of my success. The encouragement and wisdom they have shared have been invaluable. My aim in pursuing this degree was not simply to collect credentials, but to enrich myself with the skills and knowledge to create value for my career, and future generations of business enthusiasts, and help in creating new businesses and improving existing business strategic operations.
