Getting married soon? Or again? Malay weddings are actually quite fair priced compared to a Chinese wedding for example. Catering is the biggest expense for any wedding. Is it possible a hotel to serve a wedding at RM 28 per pax? Yes, it is possible (outside of KL) to make it profitable even at that price..... but you will need minimum number of paxs and also proper menu planning and costing. Obviously a minimum guaranteed number of guests at 500 paxs to 1000 paxs will be preferable at these prices. How about the menu? Not bad actually. Normally it will be buffet style where there will be a salad, one rice dish (fried or plain steamed rice), one noodle, one chicken dish such as ayam masak merah, one fish (guaranteed dory), sliced fruits and free flow of air sirap. Compare that to a Chinese wedding for 1000 paxs.....100 tables. Paling kurang price per table without getting angry glances from angry relatives in a hotel today is RM 1000 per table. So 100 tables will total to RM 100k for catering alone......boleh kahwin 3 kali if we go back in time and convert 😅

How to Enjoy Sake with Geisha: Understanding What is a Geisha Banquet What is a Geisha Banquet? Enjoy Sake with Geisha to Understand the Manners Today, we will share how to enjoy sake with Geisha at a Ryotei or restaurants (such as Shimakin or Torijaya). Understanding this is very important to know what a Geisha banquet is. First and foremost, Geisha do not eat in front of guests. However, it is common for Geisha to drink alcohol during banquets. The Basic Etiquette at a Geisha Banquet The basic etiquette is that Geisha pour sake for the guests, and it is considered bad manners for guests to pour their own sake. In this way, Geisha pour sake for you, and in return, you can offer them a drink by saying, "Would you like some sake?" This makes the conversation more lively. Additionally, when a Geisha is performing, it is customary to put down your chopsticks and refrain from eating or drinking to enjoy the performance fully. When is the Best Timing to Offer Sake to Geisha? So, when is the best timing to offer sake to Geisha? The optimal time is after the Geisha has performed a dance (known as "Ozashiki wo Tsukeru"). After their performance, the Geisha will sit next to the guests. At this point, you can compliment them by saying, "Your dance was wonderful," or "Your shamisen playing was excellent," and then offer them a drink, such as, "Would you like a beer?" The guests should pour a beer for the Geisha, as Geisha never pour beer for themselves. If you are drinking sake, you can offer sake instead of beer. Another suitable time to offer sake to Geisha is right after they enter the room. Although they will not drink much before their performance, offering them a drink as a greeting can set a positive tone for the banquet. Saying, "I look forward to today. How about a drink (beer) as a greeting?" will please the Geisha and enhance their service throughout the banquet. Please note that any sake you offer to the Geisha will be charged to your bill. Geisha does not drink large amounts of alcohol, so these costs are considered part of the banquet fee. Check out my blog post https://wix.to/FzzoZ7r #newblogpost #geisha #geishagirl #kagurazaka

A new chapter is about to unfold
On May 5th we’re inviting our community, and our friends in the hospitality sector, to a unique opening ceremony. As the Summer approaches, and an eventful year for Scorpios begins with our expansion in Bodrum, we thought we’d arrange a special gathering in Mykonos. Attendees will be invited to rediscover flavor through Ioannis’ dishes, which utilizes the tool of fire and advanced culinary techniques for a menu that emblematically reflects traditional Greek cuisine. With music from Valeron & Band, plus DJ sets from Valeron, Jean Claude-Ades and more, this event will be a moment for us to come together and celebrate before the start of the full season. Reservations now open. https://lnkd.in/dyXHh-Mr

Interesting read. I see more Hunan restaurants in Singapore as well though they seem to cater to mainland Chinese living here rather than locals #hunanfood #hunancuisine #changingtastes #luxury #chinaluxury

What are the 4 most essential menu items for Room Service? You’re staying in a hotel, a resort or you’ve gone glamping. You go for the Room Service Menu and look for your four faves. What are your four Must-Haves on a room service menu? Mine would be (1) Burger & Fries. (2) Classic BLT (3) Fried Rice (4) Phaad Thai noodle. I have found all four dishes to be generally tasty after making the journey from kitchen to guest room. What are your Four “Must Haves” on a hotel room service menu to keep you satisfied? 1. 2. 3. 4. Please keep it to four.
