Hot take: AI could put 90% of graphic designers out of a job. And this isn't an exaggeration. According to a recent report from ARK Invest, AI image generation models have reduced the cost and time required to produce an image by over 99%. This is backed up by my personal experience: I write a daily newsletter read by almost 500,000 people and every day I feature high quality AI-generated images that would cost 100x more time and money if I paid a graphic designer to do it. While the best graphic designers will always be in demand, the average graphic designer will find it extremely hard to compete with AI image generation models that create work of comparable quality at almost no cost in a few seconds. But I could be wrong - AI might end up being an enhancer (instead of being a replacer) for graphic designers, and could make graphic designer more productive than ever before. What do you think?

This AI workflow can turn any logo into a high-quality video completely free. Here's how to do it in 5 simple steps: Step 1: Create a logo image with a background. Create an image with your logo and your preferred background landscape using Canva or Photoshop. Step 2: Upload your image to Runway Head to Runway and sign in. If you don't have an account, you can sign up for free and get 125 credits. Once you're in, select 'Generate Images' from the menu. Finally, Select image-to-image generator and upload your image Step 3: Stylize your Image Stylize your image with a prompt and adjust the settings. Once you're done, click Generate. Logo Design that is not AI.

🚫 "AI is going to eliminate graphic designers." 🚫 No. It's not. How do I know? Let's look at the past. Did you know this same scare happened almost 30 years ago? There was a time when the "norm" for graphic design was print media. People didn't advertise on the web. It was a new scary monster in the world just like AI is now. Print designers refused to make the switch to digital design. They refused to embrace the new technology in their industry. A game-changing technology. Guess where those designers are now? Out of business. Guess where the designers that made the switch are? Flourishing. AI is just our modern-day version of the print-to-digital switch. The technology is here. It is ignorant to just expect people to ignore it so it doesn't "affect" your job. The world and technology WILL keep on progressing whether you are on board with it or not. Don't be like those print designers back in the day. Start embracing AI. Start using it in your workflows. Will the design industry look and feel different than it used to before AI? Of course. Will our previous workflows be changed? Definitely. Will graphic designers still be needed? 100%. Will AI displace graphics designers. Most people in the design industry no longer feel useful. Why Because some feel that they will not be able to do better than AI Or People would rather create AI images than paying designers. Let's talk about AI, and how it's changing graphic design. AI is being embraced as a powerful tool in the design world. And whether you like it or not, AI is here to stay. Yesterday, I did some experimenting with AI, and used the following text prompt: "ballerina mouse wearing a pink tutu in soft pinks with a space above for book title" My prompt returned many variations, some very good, some not even usable. Some of the images returned a mouse with 3 feet, while others gave the mouse 4 arms. I settled on the image below.👇 Now if you zoom in, there is more work to be done if I actually wanted to deliver this to a client. The eyes, feet, and whiskers all need some cleaning up. But in general this can serve as a good starting point for a project. So, what are your thoughts on AI? Are you embracing it, or rejecting it? I've decided to embrace it, because I believe AI is here to stay, and it's only going to get better and better as time goes on. So now I am on a journey to learn how to write the perfect prompts to get my desired result. I believe this will be an important skill set to have as a graphic designer.
