This Week we've celebrated Europe Day with Clients and Friends from France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Portugal...
And of course this Weekend is Eurovision and, whether you love it or loathe it, the Contest celebrates many shared Differences and Similarities via Song.
In an increasingly VUCA World with many complex Conflicts around the Globe, it's more important than ever to understand Why and How Unconscious Bias can affect our Attitudes, Behaviours, and Actions, both in and outside Work:

Perfect example of Inclusion! 😍
Today I joined with my colleague Anna-Maija Korko ”Monimuotoisuusaamiainen: Miten saavutetaan ja houkutellaan monimuotoinen hakijajoukko?”(*) organized by FIBS and Includia Leadership.
The word monimuotoisuus means diversity. As a non-Finn the word monimuotoisuus is quite monimutkainen, which means complicated. I’m eager to study Finnish, I’m eager to integrate in Finland. And it is challenging.
With the encouragement of Tiina Halmari I try to include myself by participating in interesting DEI events in Finnish. With the calculated risk of missing 30 % of the content.
Now and then something magic is happening. People (like Greta Andersson or Jonna Louvrier (she/her)) or organizations (like FIBS or Includia Leadership) notice your effort and do an extra effort to include you.
Today all slides were in Finnish and English. It helped me to focus on the spoken Finnish presentation and above all I felt included.
This is a perfect example of Inclusion! Thanks a lot for this!
And thank you Piia Pentti (she/they) for your company, I highly appreciate it! See you around!

Differences keep empowering us during #EuropeanDiversityMonth, and throughout the entire year! 💪🏽
A few days ago, we discovered how Rita Brando, from Environment Licenses & Programs, is #EmpoweredByDifferences. Now it's the turn of another of the 15,000 people at SEAT S.A. Do you want to know more about the person behind these words? ✨
💬 To him, diversity is all about learning. 👀 What does it mean to you? Share below how you are empowered by differences. 👇🏽

Just as each unique piece in a puzzle forms a beautiful picture, so all cultures and people in the EU create richness and harmony. In our shared cultural puzzle, we are united by the idea that diversity makes us stronger. By sharing traditions, arts and stories, we build better understanding and embrace the unique traits of each of us. This cultural exchange is the key to a more cordial, tolerant and united Europe. Together we shape tomorrow's story, which is a puzzle where every piece counts.

Today we celebrate the UN World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development!
Cultural diversity is linked to development, not only with respect to economic growth, but also as a means of leading a more fulfilling intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual life.
Bridging the gap between cultures is one of the positive outcomes of being in a community like the #ICANetwork, which is constantly expanding and including members from different continents, fields of expertise, and cultural backgrounds.
In ICA World we promote dialogue by organising online and in-person events, exchanging ideas and opinions, and establishing common values and principles to ensure fruitful cooperation. Our network of technical and local members empowers local ownership, ensuring the most sustainable solutions are applied in line with cultural diversity. We believe that creating solid and trustful human relationships among our members is a driving force of success, not only in winning project opportunities but, more broadly, in positively contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Today, we honor and celebrate the profound legacy of Donald B. Watt, the visionary founder of The Experiment in International Living and the Federation EIL with a short video that resummes one of the Experimental Maximas: LEARN TO LIVE TOGETHER BY LIVING TOGETHER 😊.
He had a unique 🙌 idea, bringing high school students to live with families in other countries to learn about other cultures and thereby promote world understanding and peace.
Donald B. Watt's visionary question remains as relevant today as it was when he first posed it: How do we structure an individual's participation in another culture to further their intercultural understanding?.
📍He believed that true understanding comes from living and learning together, not just observing from a distance.
📍By placing individuals in host families and encouraging them to engage deeply with the local culture, Watt's programs aimed to foster genuine connections and mutual understanding.
📍 Watt's approach was revolutionary in its emphasis on direct, personal experience as a means of breaking down cultural barriers.
📍He recognized that structured, meaningful interactions are crucial in helping individuals develop a nuanced appreciation of different cultures. Through carefully designed programs, participants are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, embrace new perspectives, and build lasting relationships across cultural lines.
In a world 🌎that is increasingly interconnected yet often divided by misunderstanding and prejudice, the principles he championed are more vital than ever. By continuing to explore 👓and refine ways to structure cultural participation, we honor 🫶 his vision and contribute to a more inclusive and empathetic global community.
Join us in celebrating Donald B. Watt's remarkable contributions and the lasting impact of The Experiment in International Living. Help us sharing 👌the post to your collegues!
🌺🌏✨ Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! 🌟🎉
May is dedicated to honoring the rich tapestry of Asian American, Pacific Islander American, and Native Hawaiian cultures. It's a time to recognize the significant contributions these communities have made to our nation's history and fabric.
Did you know? The roots of this celebration trace back to the inaugural Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Week in 1979, spearheaded by New York Representative Frank Horton and Hawaii Senator Daniel Inouye. This week commemorated key historical events, like the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants and the completion of the transcontinental railroad by Chinese laborers.
From overcoming adversity to driving innovation, AAPI communities have left an indelible mark on America. Despite facing discrimination throughout history, their resilience and contributions continue to inspire us.
This year's theme, "Advancing Leaders Through Innovation," underscores the importance of recognizing and fostering AAPI leadership and innovation. 💡 Let's take this month to celebrate diversity, honor heritage, and reaffirm our commitment to inclusivity and equity. Together, we can create a brighter and more inclusive future for all. 🌟 #AAPIHeritageMonth#Inclusion#Diversity#Equity#ISSSTOXX
We believe in the power of sharing stories. Particularly when it comes to exploring #culturaldiversity. Stories serve as windows into unknown worlds and can broaden our perspectives.
At our recent #Intercultural#StorySharing session, we saw this firsthand. Through the stories of Iñigo Diaz de Cerio, Abel White Buko, and Lisa Andersson, we gained practical insights into how cultural differences influence our attitudes, communication styles and work preferences. Each of them shared a unique story, from experiences of integration in international football, to saving a Swedish-Danish collaboration by ‘playing the culture card’, and how a business meeting in Brazil unexpectantly turned into a full-on family celebration watching the World Cup! What united the three stories was their emphasis on attitudes of curiosity and humility when working across cultures, and that prioritizing building relationships is always key! We also learned that fully immersing oneself and just going with the flow is a great strategy when trying to understand a different culture! 😉
Let’s continue using stories to build bridges across cultures!
