Today marks my first Monday back after parental leave. The pandemic makes the return a bit unusual. For one,"returning" involves firing up Teams and tackling an Inbox. Also, my daughter is sleeping (and sometimes crying) in the next room. Here are three things I'm trying to help with the transition: 👶 I showered and put on the type of outfit I wore to the office in the Before Times, including shoes. 👶 I put lunch into my calendar and spent the time eating with my wife. Making the time to see family has made leaving them a bit easier during the day. 👶 I'm putting time on my colleagues' calendars for informal check-ins, even if we're not working on anything together, just to rebuild the sense of belonging that I have learned to nurture virtually this year. What other advice do you have for me as I return to work and to the fabulous #hellomondaypodcast production team?
Beautiful baby!
Congratulations Jessi Hempel; so exciting for you to be back and see your incredible smile. The way you inspire and promote thought brings joy to me daily. Have fun jumping in and know you were missed.
Have your camera on during meetings whenever possible!
Happy mother's Day
She's gorgeous!!! Welcome back online :)
Getting dressed is so important. I don't have any advice, but want to say that she is absolutely adorable!
Coworkers often love baby cameos during Zoom meetings. ;)
Welcome back Jessi, and congratulations!
