This week’s Social Innovation Summit in Chicago truly mirrored where we stand in our industry and society. There’s an undeniable energy in the air, accompanied by a sense of cautious optimism. While we celebrate our progress, it’s clear there’s still much work to be done. Grounded, intentional, and passionate – that’s the spirit I see driving us all forward. Many of us are searching for answers, striving to foster solutions in a safe, supportive environment. It’s heartening to see familiar faces alongside new ones, all sharing this common goal. Our discussions around #ESG, social impact, and societal progress are more vital than ever. Can’t wait for next year! #KPMGESG #SocialInnovationSummit #KPMGSustainability #SIS24 #ESG #SocialImpact #Leadership #Sustainability

Founder, AUTHENTIC | Chair-Elect, IDSA Board of Directors | Founding Advisor, Global Impact Collective
The past years, after leaving the corporate world and forming Authentic Design, have been a thrilling ride, swarming fast on on dozens of social design projects around the world. During this time, I have always been reminded of the proverb, “To run fast, run alone; to run far, run together.” Some months ago, at a lunch with some former colleagues, we were discussing ways design could be a catalyst for social good. Our shared experiences in large technology companies had proved to us that design could be a transformational agent not only for products and services, but also for the way large complex organizations worked. We also shared the belief that the same approach could be applied to help solve complex, multi-dimensional social and environmental challenges. I am so happy to share that I am starting a new position as Founding Advisor at Global Impact Collective with a group of amazing experts each at the top of their game, even as I continue with Authentic. The Collective is a design and strategy consultancy that helps organizations worldwide tackle food, health, and environmental challenges with a focus on understanding complex systems and using human-centered design. The team has decades of expertise in design, social impact, sustainability, and technology at some of the most impactful organizations on earth. Together, our purpose is to design a world that improves the lives and livelihoods of ALL and to do this by bringing people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences together to address today’s urgent challenges. Please follow us on LinkedIn for updates. We are continuing to iterate and build an expanding collective network of talented, like-minded people to help us along the way, so please reach out if you want to learn more or join us on this journey. It’s going to be a fun ride! 🌍 Exciting Collaboration with Pledge for The Planet! 🌍 We are thrilled to share the details of a recent project in partnership with Pledge for the Planet (PFTP). Our mission was to dive deep into understanding the sustainability and social impact views across a variety of companies, aiming to gather invaluable insights for shaping PFTP’s new corporate missions’ program. Over the past few months, our team conducted in-depth interviews with a diverse range of businesses. These conversations have been incredibly enlightening, providing us with a comprehensive understanding of how different organisations perceive and implement sustainability and social impact initiatives. Key Takeaways: 🔹 Diverse Perspectives: We spoke with companies from various industries, each offering unique insights and strategies towards sustainability. 🔹 Common Challenges: Identifying common hurdles faced by businesses in their sustainability efforts was crucial in shaping a supportive and effective program. 🔹 Innovative Solutions: The best practices shared during these interviews help develop throughout recommendations we were able to create for PFTP to inform the program’s framework moving forward. The outcome of this collaboration is aimed at further developing the upcoming Corporate Missions program. We believe this program can not only enhance companies’ social impact but also contribute positively to our planet. A huge thank you to all the companies that participated in our interviews and Alice Kendall, founder of PFTP. Your openness and insights have been invaluable.
