Translating Research in Elder Care (TREC) brings together citizens, researchers, knowledge users, and policy makers to produce knowledge that improves care with and for older adults - like the Breathing Toolkit described below. It's been great to join this year's annual gathering to learn more about TREC's work, catch up with partners, and connect with folks around the world who share similar aims.

Looking for a simple technique that can lower stress, improve sleep and self-care? Try Coherent Breathing, a type of deliberate and focused breathing that balances the nervous system and promotes relaxation. Learn more with Translating Research in Elder Care (TREC)'s Breathing Toolkit: https://lnkd.in/gzrW5VSz The toolkit was developed from a successful project prompted by mental health and well-being findings during the pandemic and requests from long-term care staff. Among the ways the Coherent Breathing strategy was implemented in some long-term care homes was through "breathing huddles," where staff could take five minutes to do this type of breathing in a quiet room. This research was funded through HEC and Alberta Health Services.
