Very true words. I have been told in the past I need to focus just on one thing to make it easier for others to understand what I can bring to their organisation. I have been told my CV is confusing. not just marketing. not just comms. not just strategy... leadership? change? But these are all my passions and to me all come together. To make change you need to understand people and how to show them your vision. This mean comms. To engage patients in new models of healthcare they need to be empowered and that means strategic marketing and communications that shifts behavior and minds. To transform anything you need comms. To be a great leader you need to understand people and how to communicate. For me it's not stay in the easy to understand lane but strive to bring value. To create a difference. I have stuck to being who I am and doing the myriad of things I love. And so far, I've found organisations that see the benefit and value that diversity brings. So stay true to yourself in all your guises. Don't limit yourself to what fits the norm, but be the best you can to bring value to what you do amd joy to your and others lives. #leadership #change #healthcaretransformation #self-worth #personaldevelopment

I have always had fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of trying new things, fear of eating unknown food, fear of holding a python …those are some examples. Though I have yet to conquer my fear of holding a snake (even just typing it out makes me shiver as the though of the slithering creature on my shoulder), I do try to conquer my other fears. When opening a new chapter, there is always that fear of the unknown. However, I believe that support is the greatest tool anyone can ever have in conquering a person’s fear(s). Family and friends play a major role. So do the people at the workplace. Your boss, your colleagues…they matter. But first, you have to try to take the steps to do it. And even if you don’t have that support, believe in yourself. Know that you have what it takes to try and do something new. So, what’s stopping you? Try it!!

With decades of history as a winemaker and brand developer, my history was dictating who I was rather than who I could become as well as what it was that I knew so could accomplish. I wanted, NEEDED, to go deeper. Of course, I’m still who I was and I will always be that same person with those exact (and hopefully improving) skills…..but that’s not enough! So Covid triggered inspiration to create something new, which became “Flexcube West”, an equipment and supplies company working with the Globally Patented Australian made Flexcube and a strict adherence to barrel grade oak stave oak for Barrel Replication. During that time, Covid also encouraging diversification, I completed several wine industry Expert Witness contracts with 2 of 3 lawsuit cases settling after intense research and reports negating many of the plaintiffs claims. I am now working on a new It is very common that people ask me, “What ‘Exactly’ do you do?” My answer is that “I am a technical winemaker that engages in any activities that promote excellence in production standards, viticultural improvement, and higher standards in wine business acumen.” Never forget, 1. “Dreams are only Plans Without Action” and; 2. Never allow naysayer comments to slow down your visionary aspirations. Create! Do! Diversity within your specialty! Try something totally different (if you have the luxury [Financially]) to explore.
