Did you know Braze holds its own hackathon? Started in 2015 by our CTO Jonathan Hyman and CPO Kevin Wang as a way to foster collaboration and creativity, Braze’s Hackathon takes place three times a year and any Braze employee can take part, either individually or as part of a team. In our latest edition, 74 participants from six departments participated globally, from the US to Japan! You don’t have to be an engineer to join – just passionate about innovation and exploring new creative ideas to solve a problem. As part of the Logistics team, I focused on spreading awareness internally about the event, making sure everything ran smoothly from the beginning all the way to the announcement of the winning teams. The Hackathon turned out to be an incredibly engaging, fun and inclusive event, and I’m proud of everyone who played a part in making it the success that it was. And that’s not surprising – after all, Braze itself was born at a hackathon won by our Co-founders Bill and Jon in 2011, so we can definitely say innovation is in our DNA. So many ideas born from past Braze Hackathons have gone on to become actual products or have made a tangible impact for our customers through our customer engagement platform - I can’t wait to see what will come out of this one. It is so important that we all play our part. Amazingly, If only each household would reduce ongoing consumption by a simple 100 watts, this would result in a saving of 2.4kW per day, 876 kW in a year, enough to charge a 70 kW electric car 12 times! This shows the environmental savings that can be made by very simple actions such as turning off lights that are not in use and by turning off standby items unless it is essential that they remain on, an example of which would be a Wi-Fi modem. (I am sure at this stage most people will have abandoned traditional lights and halogen bulbs for LEDs) For ideas and inspiration as to how we can all play our part I have a course here in Insight Timer called “Answering The Cry Of The Earth” https://lnkd.in/eK8RUkcg

I'm a multifaceted design and development professional. I have expertise in UI/UX design, web development, mobile app development, and software engineering. I excel at crafting intuitive digital experiences .
*3 powerful lessons I took home after the 48hrs hackathon* *If you don't separate yourself from distractions, distractions will separate you from yourself* 1. *Focus is a muscle:* 48 hrs of focus we created something big imagine maintaining that focus for 6 months🤔. The more you focus the stronger the muscle. *Safe to say we are behind because we are distracted.* 2. *You are not special:* It was so relieving being around people who don't know your name and you don't know them this remove the idea of judging people and create space for you to see life the way it really is. The expirience was great 😁 3. *We eat to replenish lost energy not for fun* At the hackathon those who ate for fun could not work after eating because of constipation and tiredness. But those who ate for energy kept working. 4. *Teamwork is everything if you want to go far.* *Competition only happens at the bottom, at the top we collaborate 😁* My name is *Mbah David* *If you are hungry for growth and improvement like me let's connect* Whatsapp 652892462
