30,177 deaths by suicide 7,057 deaths due to combat Since 9/11 we have gotten a lot of things wrong. How we “care” for the employees who agreed to work for the largest enterprise organization ever is a shockingly unrecognized truth. Yes; we are doing better than we once did… No; it’s still not enough. On this day of memorial, what are you celebrating? When you thank a soldier/veteran for their service, what do you actually mean? Besides discounts, barbecues, and a day off, what does Memorial Day mean to you? Today, I am grateful for the privately funded inpatient program where my husband is currently beginning the second week of this second stay this year. He fought tirelessly for 16 years for what his employer promised when he was hired. …and it took the generosity of people like you who cared more… 🙏 So thank 🫵YOU🫵 Thank you for serving those who served! 🫡 They deserve better! ~~~ While my husband is receiving long overdue care I am addressing the soul-level burnout I’ve had smoldering for a decade. The caregivers to our nation’s heroes receive even less support; but that’s a different conversation for a different day. ~~~ Article including the provided stats is linked below.👇
Thank you so much for this post. I really don't have a lot of words here, but there's just enormous trauma that those who served in combat (and from what I understand, those who are even close to the combat) experience. I'm glad that help is more readily available, but it's not enough. And it needs to be known that it's more than okay to get help. this many suicides a day is incredibly tragic. And thank you for what you do Jennifer. Sending love your way.
This is such valuable information Jennifer Anne Rodriguez sadly they have gotten a lot of things wrong. This is a powerful mission you are on. Thank you for advocating and I support you. Remembering those who gave so much for our freedom and way of living. 🇺🇸🙏🏻 May your posts reach those who need to hear your wisdom.
I will gladly pay extra taxes if it means getting every veteran the best mental and physical care that is offered. If you served, you should be able to walk into any hospital in the US and receive zero dollar care.

Wow. Those are impossibly hard stats to read. Thank you Jennifer Anne Rodriguez for shedding light on that. Clearly more needs to be done to care for our people with over three times more dying from suicide than combat. Heartbreaking. So sorry for your own burnout as well. I understand the smolder. Peace be with you friend!
Sending you lots of love and strength Remember you matter too xx
Thank you Jennifer Anne Rodriguez. Hard to read those statistics. We don’t do enough for those who serve, or for the people who are responsible for caring for them when they come home. thank you to you, for all you do to care. thank you to your husband and all who without question go out to keep me safe💙
Such a heartfelt post Jennifer aunt. It's time we all feel and think the way you do, you're a guiding light to the world.
Sending you so much love, my friend
