Rare earth elements are a group of 17 metallic elements that have unique properties and applications in various fields, such as renewable energy, electronics, medicine, and defense. They are not actually rare in terms of abundance, but they are often dispersed and mixed with other minerals, making them difficult and costly to extract and refine. Similarly, some people have the grace, ingenuity, and discipline to lead the way towards a sustainable future, but they are often overlooked or undervalued by society. They are the ones who innovate, create, and advocate for solutions that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect the environment, and ensure social justice. They are the ones who challenge the status quo, inspire others, and collaborate across sectors and boundaries. They are the ones who have the vision, courage, and perseverance to make a difference in the world. A clean and just transition is not only about switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. It is also about ensuring that the benefits and costs of this transformation are shared fairly and equitably among workers, communities, and countries. It is about respecting the rights and dignity of all people, especially those who are most vulnerable and marginalized. It is about creating a more inclusive, diverse, and democratic society that values human well-being and ecological integrity. To achieve this vision, we need more people who are like rare earth elements: who can shine their light and spark their potential in the face of adversity and uncertainty. We need to recognize, support, and celebrate these people, and learn from their examples and experiences. Where are those people now?

Movement in dance refers to the actions of the dancers. These actions refer to any use of any muscle to create a visual display. Dancers might move their heads, arms, legs, feet, hands, fingers, toes, backs. Each action is a movement. #movementpractitioner #movementartist #movememt
