Last week I had my work anniversary. Thought the best way to celebrate 12 years was to share 12 things I’ve learned at #salesforce: 1) Vulnerability isn’t a weakness, it’s a superpower. 2) Don’t read the news, make the news. 3) Coach the why, not the how. 4) Choose to be respected more than liked. Both are nice. But respect is essential. 5) Nothing shines like knowing the business: Do your homework. Know your numbers. Get the details right. 6) Know why you stay. 7) Stand for growth - for the business, for yourself, and for the team. 8) Be bold and honest about your boundaries. 9) Build bridges. Not empires. 10) Manure is the best fertilizer. A flower literally has to go through sh!t to grow. 11) Relationships are currency. Invest in the future. 12) Lead with gratitude. 3 years ago I started my tour of duty here at Salesforce! Since joining, I have grown personally & professionally. Here are a few things I have learned along the way. 1) It takes a village (both internally & externally) to transform an enterprise company's way of thinking. If you focus on the business value and outcomes you are delivering, you can rally MANY people to come together to drive positive, meaningful change. 2) GRIT and PASSION are contagious. In today's environment, having the former is table stakes. You can be talented, confident and "never give up," but above all that, you must believe in what you are doing. Passionate people with positive attitudes are the best problem solvers. 3) Appreciate the come up. Everyone is in a rush for the next promotion or next "big move." Stay present, learn from your mistakes, and embrace the come up because that is what you will look back on one day and appreciate the most.

Celebrating my second anniversary at Salesforce and reflecting on my journey. I have a few things to share. Firstly, finding an organization where your goals align is rare, and I feel fortunate to be part of one that prioritizes being a Good Human, saving the earth, and loving the customer. Secondly, change is inevitable, and in the past two years, I've navigated through various situations that have brought resilience and grit. Thirdly, patience is the key, and just like boiling eggs, things take time to cross the stages of storm and norm. Fourthly, false hope is a trap, and it's essential to reject it if it's not in action. 🎉 Today marks my 3-year work anniversary with Salesforce 🥂 I am beyond grateful to work with a team that fosters innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth. It's been an incredible experience contributing to cutting-edge solutions and helping our clients navigate the digital landscape. Reflecting on this incredible journey, here are 3 key lessons that have shaped my career: 1. Embracing a growth mindset. Transitioning roles into what I jokingly call my "third career" has been a journey marked by a profound embrace of a growth mindset. This week, I celebrated my 6-month anniversary at Salesforce 👇🏻 I love working here because of so many reasons, and the most important one for me is psychological safety 😌 I can speak up, and our leaders listen. My ideas matter. I can ask any questions. I feel treated as a human and respected. I’m allowed to be ME 💃🏼 I’m trusted to do my job and I love my job. I have a sense of ownership and accountability and I take responsibility, all of which give a sense of accomplishment, progress, and satisfaction. I experience support and encouragement from our leadership. My colleagues are a pleasure to work with, and my team is incredibly talented while also being humble and kind. I write gratitude notes about them and collect in a gratitude jar. In 6 months, my jar is nearly full! I need a new gratitude jar because my intention is set on gratitude for the next 16 years of my career here at Salesforce. What matters to me is that I feel like I belong here. My manager says to me: “Anna, you belong here!” 🥹 My manager is indescribably incredible but I’ll use mere words to say that my manager has high Emotional Intelligence and a heart of gold. I trust my manager and my skip-manager and feel empowered by both of them. They both need to be speaking at universities and conferences teaching what real-life psychologically-safe high-performance leadership looks like. My manager and my skip-manager each deserve a “leadership with humility” award 🏆 because they are fully human, that’s how provide psychological safety for the team. The second reason I love working at Salesforce is our high-performance culture that offers clear goals, complete alignment, and growth resources, such as internal leadership coaching I’m a part of, external executive coaching I benefited from, mentorship from executives within the company 1:1, which helped me so much as a new hire, lots of free bootcamps on soft skills and technical competencies, as well as valuable cross-functional networking opportunities. The list goes on 😇 I love working at our one-of-a-kind company that truly practices what it preaches. I’m in awe 🫢 Salesforce adheres to its own values. We align on values and the purpose of my life, which is to encourage and empower people. People here at Salesforce don’t just talk the talk but they actually walk the walk 😃 I feel like I’ve invested so much into Salesforce, and wow, I feel like Salesforce has invested so much in me ☺️ I’m grateful and feel very blessed 🥰 Celebrating 6 months today, and here’s to 16 more years thriving together 🍾🥂 I belong at Salesforce 😇

Reflecting on one year ago when I was interviewing at ServiceNow, I realize that I've been in the job for almost a year and am thinking about the journey so far. Today is Employee Appreciation Day, so it would be a great time to reflect on my first ten months here and shout out all the work our team has accomplished. Whenever a new leader comes in, there is always uncertainty and trepidation about what will happen. Will the leader bring in a new team? How much will the strategy change? What will happen to our jobs, etc.? But despite all those questions, we moved into a respectful curiosity and listening mode where we could truly get to know each other and figure out where the team had been, and together, we could collaborate on a course moving forward. We didn't do any job eliminations or major reorgs, but rather, we dug into each team member and their strengths and expertise. Then, we made small tweaks in the org that made major differences in how we operate. We took industry data, partner trends, and customer needs into account and formulated a strategy on the operating model of our team and what programs and content we needed to deliver to drive the pipeline. We quickly put in new innovative tools and strategies and execute plans to launch ServiceNow into an industry-leading position, leveraging GenAI on how we go to market and accelerate the pipeline through and with our partner ecosystem. We could not have done that without an exceptional team willing to lean in, have hard conversations, and take risks. We couldn't have done that without an executive team willing to place their confidence in us and trust that our decisions were right for the business. We couldn't have done that without alignment across cross-functional organizations and teams that worked not in silos but in perfect cohesion. I'm so proud to be at ServiceNow at this time and place in my career. I am so appreciative of the employees who work on the global partner marketing team, and I can't wait to see what happens in the year ahead. So far, so good... and it's only going to get better and better!
