If you wanna save your self from the Mental Agony that happens when someone cancels your deal then make sure you have the following clauses in your contracts! Here's a quick guide to key clauses: 1️⃣ Cancellation Terms: Your lifeline. Clearly outline notice periods, communication methods, and post-cancellation duties. Standardize the process, reduce misunderstandings. 2️⃣ Cancellation Penalties: The commitment stick. If they cancel, ensure you get compensation for your time and effort. Specify flat fees or a percentage in your contract. 3️⃣ Dispute Resolution: Plan for the worst. Have mechanisms like negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation. Specify the preferred order to resolve issues amicably. 4️⃣ Intellectual Property Rights: Safeguard your creativity. Define ownership, usage rights, transfer of rights, and penalties for infringement. Protect your work, even if the project gets canned.
