Things change, and so do we! This Fall Semester 2023 has been nothing less than amazing. A quick look at what I've been doing: ☑️ Peer-Reviewed Publications: 2 published, 3 in review. ☑️ Manuscripts in Process: 2. ☑️ Projects in Process: -The Hologic Global Women's Health Index -Food as Medicine 3.0 -Evidence Gaps in Physical Activity Research -Altoona Intervention Nutrition Program ☑️ Posters and Presentations: 4 presentations at various conferences and symposiums. ☑️ Courses: 5 advanced statistical and analytical courses completed. ☑️ Competitions: 2 research competitions are still in process. ☑️ Honors and Awards: 3 notable recognitions for presentations and financial support for professional development. ☑️ Reviewer and Professional Associations: 4 reviewer and professional society member positions. 📍In total, I've engaged in 23 distinct academic and professional activities this semester. 🌿 ✒️Doing study, giving talks at conferences, and getting praise—each project has been a step toward a healthier world and for myself as well. As I took classes to improve my skills, I was given awards that showed how much I had grown. I'm proud to help the scientific community by reviewing other scientists' work and joining a group. Big news! We just got approval for a fully online DHSc (Doctor of Health Science) program. It will take just over a year to complete, ending in an applied research project to make an impact wherever your focus is. I love impactful and meaningful research. To those in middle & advanced stages of #PhD, Give yourself a pat on the back for coming so far! Those anxiety pangs, those phases of loneliness, that sense of losing direction or struggling to recall why you even started PhD, moments, days and weeks passing without any major movement in your work, questioning of choices, seeing friends, cousins getting 'settled'. It wasn't easy! It won't be easy! But the hard work will be worth it! The journey till finishing line will be exhilarating, the pride you will feel once there will be priceless! The journey won't be smooth because it is not meant to be smooth. There will be personal & professional lessons you would have learnt which will put you at doorstep of world of opportunities (beyond academia too!) So, have that cup of coffee, re-wind, go for a walk, listen to that playlist. All this while you keep an eye on that finishing line. You are almost there! Clap for yourself before the others do for you. Celebrate your PhD journey for its uniqueness, the wonderful highs and frustrating lows.
