BOSU Bird Dog (dome up)✅ For more weekly health & fitness tips, please subscribe to my YouTube Channel - simply search for - 'James Tang Fitness’ A BOSU bird dog is great core stabilization exercise. It also builds strength and endurance, reduces lower back pain, increases shoulder and hip mobility and improves posture, balance and coordination. The “contralateral” pattern, with opposite arm and leg movements, makes it good for your brain, too. * Kneel on the BOSU dome * Adjust the knees so that the right knee is in the centre of the dome; it should stack the hip directly over the knee creating a 90-degree angle * Extend the left leg straight back, with the hip parallel to the floor * Keep the left toe on the floor for balance as you extend the right arm in front of you * Once you feel stable, move the extended arm and leg together to about hip/tabletop height, reach through the right fingertips all the way to the left toes * Bring the arm and leg back in, drawing the bellybutton in and up, engaging the core and creating a slight round in the spine * Repeat on the opposite side Beginners can simplify the move by working just the arm or just the leg. Make the bird dog harder by placing the non-working hand on the BOSU ball with the knee. Please consult your PT before starting any exercise or diet program. Front Lever✅ One skill that is considered a staple of calisthenics training is the front lever. The front lever is a static hold that is typically performed on the rings or a bar, and it requires that you hold your body in a horizontal position with arms straight. This skill requires immense strength in the lats and core. The front lever is also the perfect counterpart to the planche. Performing a front lever puts you in essentially the same body position as a planche, but inverted, and therefore works opposing muscle groups. 🏃♀️ Meet Ashley! She's one of our incredible clients – a go-getter in everything, and an awesome business owner! Like many of us, life can get really busy, as she juggles a lot.
