Spent my morning with my good friend, Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton and Orit Lender from the Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island touring the Sunrise Day Camp. Sunrise is a free camp for children with pediatric cancer and their sibilings. As someone who grew up with JCC Summer Camp, I know first hand how important those summer days can be to all families. Even with the high temperatures and humidity, it was great to see the smile on all the kids faces during their drop off and activities.

I had the amazing opportunity to visit Sunrise Day Camp last week with Colleen Judge and Avon Yan. Seeing all the happy campers was such a rewarding experience and I'm grateful to have been a part of it. Thank you to Allison Cohen and the Sunrise counselors for the wonderful tour!
