I had an incredible interview with Joubin Mirzadegan, host of the Kleiner Perkins Grit Podcast, where I had a candid conversation about what it takes to create, build, and scale world-class organizations, like Zscaler.    Great ideas are a dime a dozen, but it takes a special kind of conviction and intestinal fortitude to transform those ideas into reality. I’m very thankful to my family who taught me the importance of hard work, determination and dedication. In an interesting way, it was advantageous for my career that my family had no money. By virtue of that, I had no attachment to money; there was no feeling of “I must buy this” and that mentality hasn’t changed. With no attachment to financial wealth, I felt unencumbered to take risks. I had the opportunity to have a sit-down interview with T E Raja Simhan from The Hindu businessline, one of the most prominent business publications in India reaching more than a million daily readers. In the interview, I reflected on my life and career journey over the last 60+ years, and it is clear big things can emerge from humble beginnings. During the interview, I shared my life story starting in a small village in Himachal Pradesh to founding Zscaler, the largest cloud security company in the market. It is immensely satisfying that Zscaler is the de facto security platform that protects the largest companies in the world, including Tata Steel, FedEx, and CVS Health from the growing threat of cyberattacks, with a global workforce of 7,000 and over 8,000 customers. Despite many hardships in my formative years, I was hyper-focused on my studies, and I was fortunate in securing a scholarship that took me to the University of Cincinnati that helped solidify my path forward. I am amazed by the impact Zscaler has made in the business world and on a more national level, I am honored by the significant impact Zscaler has made in India, serving major companies like Godrej, Tata Steel, and Aditya Birla, as well as government entities. We have recognized India's vulnerability to cyberattacks and have proactively invested in a large locally-based security research team to proactively address emerging threats. As customers in India and globally increasingly prioritize cybersecurity, Zscaler has witnessed significant growth and we are now one of the largest financial institutions’ trusted partners. She emphasized the need for technology, data, and AI in the future of the dairy industry highlighting that “keeping IT simple, secure, safe, and sustainable by taking the cost out, by taking complexity out, [this is] where Zscaler is a very important partner for us in doing so.” – Adam Raeburn-James, CTO and VMO of Unilever discussed Unilever’s journey with Zscaler in the context of their move to the cloud, highlighting the benefits of moving to the cloud, such as technology flexibility, access to innovation, and cost reduction. Adam shared that their transition from a traditional network infrastructure to Zscaler's Zero Trust approach, starting with ZAA deployment during the start of Covid-19 in early 2020. “That was the start of the journey and it was amazing to see. The company never missed a beat. It was unbelievable.” – Dr. Stefan Henkel CIO of Siemens Healthineers shared their mission to pioneer healthcare breakthroughs with focus on patient treatment and precision therapy. He highlighted  the significance of market, geopolitical, technology, compliance, and cybersecurity factors in their business strategy. Dr. Henkel spoke about Zscaler's support in identifying anomalies in the network, micro-segmenting the network, and achieving robustness: “We need Zscaler to find out how we can better, let's say micro segment our network. How we drive this into the intelligent service reconfiguration.” 

It was amazing to see so many industry leaders, valued customers and esteemed partners last week at Zscaler's Annual Zenith Live conference in Las Vegas! I am very pleased to share that Zscaler delivered outstanding Q3 FY24 results. Revenue grew by 32% year-over-year, total billings grew by 30% year-over-year, and our $1 million-plus ARR customers grew by 31% year-over-year. As threat actors evolve and continue to exploit firewall-based security, #ZeroTrust security remains a top IT priority, and an increasing number of enterprises are adopting our platform. We are accelerating our platform expansion with organic innovations and strategic acquisitions.  To scale us to $5 billion and beyond in ARR, we are scaling our strong go-to-market team. We are hiring experienced leaders and professionals to capture our large market opportunity. Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Dallas Evanta, a Gartner Company CIO summit, where I engaged in a thought-provoking discussion with Steve Williams, the Chief Information Security Officer of NTT Data. Our conversation centered around the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the realm of Zero Trust. With the advent of AI and ML, we delved into the crucial task of comprehending and overseeing a company's attack surface. As leaders in the corporate world, we emphasized the need for agility when confronting cyber threats. Steve astutely observed the profound impact of eCrimes in today's digital landscape and praised Zscaler for its ability to offer valuable insights into user experiences, as well as identify common issues in specific geographical regions.
