🎉We are counting down the days until the official launch of the youth education and personal development guide, "Build Your Future".
I discussed this with my volunteer colleague Ileana Brinzan (Dumitrache) in the show Echilibru, by Elena Harbur.
We are looking forward to Wednesday, October 4th, to offer young people this guide with practical exercises and discussion topics.
It's been a lot of teamwork at Maxwell Association Romania, and the thought that you can have a positive impact in the lives of young people is amazing.
👉 What recent action, with an impact in society, family or work environment, brings you the greatest satisfaction?

Here's a good example of clear, careful questioning involving a teacher and student about J K Rowling and alleged 'problematic' attitudes. There's no shouting or anger. It is a classic example of Socratic reasoning contrasting radically with the behaviour at many universities who seem to reject reason, plummeting down the rabbit hole of Relativism https://t.ly/HDUWs
Working in both, Warren makes the point that things are more restrictive in higher education than at high school. Anonymous bias reporting, offices for diversity and inclusion, and thinking in a singular way concern him. He believes higher education must correct itself or implode. At high school, there appears to be a bit more objectivity, perhaps due to parent involvement
Much the same is developing in the UK where our intelligentsia, seemingly blinded by all things American, slavishly follows what seems to be an ideological wave, crushing reason in its wake. Ideology has no use for reason and can't accommodate contradiction or disagreement. It threatens society and culture which can be free from such caged thinking, created by obsession with being right and intolerance of disagreement. This exchange is a fine example of trying to rescue reason from the jaws of ideology
No longer permitted to film in the classroom, where he should have been applauded by the authorities, they chose to restrict someone on the side of reason. Such is the grip the US ideological intelligentsia has on education. Systemic crushing of reason is a full-on attack on society and humanity. Forbidden to reason, people are reduced mindless cogs without agency, fit only to conform to citizenship in some quasi-Liberal Utopia, fit only for people stripped of humanity
Reason cannot exist without temporary suspension of contradiction. A discussion starts between people when a contradiction appears. Each participant must suspend this rule to explore and address what the other says. Without suspension, there could be no exchange because participants would automatically dismiss anything else, by definition
As discussion develops, you can see an attempt to construct the conclusion by inclusion of both points of view. In the process, where contradiction is detected, the aim is not a triumphant 'got-ya' but to modify the parts of the edifice under construction. The end of this process is the conclusion
Socratic questioning avoids right and wrong negativity. To do this, it's necessary to reveal contradictions and, although the strict application of the law of non-contradiction is suspended, people can voluntarily accept that where contradiction is found on the way to learning something new, they are allowed to apply the rule voluntarily, rather than be forced to accept it
Despite the process being engineered by the teacher, the conclusion is a joint effort built on compromise, (something particularly loathed by ideologues). The sight of universities rejecting this is as barbaric as it is grotesque and irresponsible
College football has corrupted itself with the transfer portal and NIL payouts as configured. It has a corruptive influence on the sport and players. It undermines teams and teamwork and amplifies a lack of development of the players as men.
This represents a continuance of the entropy of American society and a failure of raising up men. The idiocy of a nation that undermines men and or women, which current policies in the public and private sectors are doing, illustrates the cultural and ideological mind virus at work in America. It weakens the country and increases negative cascade effects which further rot the public. Remaining in such a paradigm will only hurt the country exponentially more.
As for people so too for the nation.

We recently had a delightful conversation with Andrew Kern about the centrality of Homer in education, philosophy, and rhetoric! Stay tuned for the full conversation! #classicaleducation#Homer#iliad#odyssey

Teacher talk is an essential tool that many educators don't utilize enough. It's something that was highlighted in a lecture a few years ago and has stuck with me ever since. Interestingly, I've come across this same lecture on three separate occasions over the past year. With the literacy crisis in the United States, it's more important than ever to model immersive, high-quality conversations not only in our literacy classrooms but ALL content areas. Evidence and research-based curriculum is only one part of the puzzle...Let's empower our educators to use this valuable tool and help our students develop essential 21st century communication skills! #TeacherTalk#LiteracyCrisis#Education#CommunicationSkills
