A pleasure to have participated in the panel Deal Landscape Spain 2024 earlier today at IPEM in Cannes representing Avior Capital, alongside fellow panelists Matilde Horta e Costa of Arcano Partners and Alfonso Erhardt Ybarra of Oquendo Capital, moderated by Lucía Camblor of Reorg. Some of the topics discussed include: 1. After a slow-paced 2023, this year should see increased #dealactivity as the economic environment and companies' performance improve, interest rates moderate and the bid-ask valuation gap narrows 2. #Pipeline is strong and there can be a tide of activity and a domino effect 3. International #GPs are looking at the market in the upper #midmarket and above, but local firms control the lower end of the market, where valuations and value creation potential is higher 4. Tough #fundraising environment where diferentiation and a strong trackrecord are key 5. Increasing amount of capital seeking direct deal access through #coinvestments and club deals through specialised, seasoned emerging managers Avior Capital and our #portfolio companies MT HELMETS and ESP Solutions Global continue to be well positioned to capitalise on these market oportunities.

I couldn't have met these guys in one place even if I'd planned it for months. And now, coincidence brought us together at Vienna’s international airport. From right: Michal Rybovic, Partner at Sandberg Capital, is a bright and successful private equity investor I always love to talk to. Martin Cigler is CEO and founder of Seyfor, one of Sandberg’s portfolio companies. Martin is a bit like my inspiration or benchmark for what I’m trying to do, too. He has done a considerable number of M&A deals and fiercely consolidated the B2B software market in CZ and SK, with spillovers to other regions. Last but not least, Matej Klenovsky, who, along with Jakub Krajcovic, represents the new generation of private equity craftsmanship at Sandberg Capital. One thing's for sure.
