I mean, honestly, I think this is fair game for total ridicule at this point. I would love to see some ambitious 0Ls or 1Ls absolutely tear Columbia Law Review to pieces for this. Are we supposed to respect the people that made this statement as our “betters” for having gone to an Ivy League? I’m having an incredibly hard time respecting them as my “peers”.
For one, your fellows acting like fascists are being treated like fascists - because they are, in fact, fascists. Is the ‘rule of law’ no longer taught at Columbia Law School? I guess I’m just confused as to how any of you imagined breaking laws doesn’t result in consequences.
And you expect to just all get passing grades for the semester? I’m sorry, but the utter privilege reeking from you is so off-putting. Where do any of you get the nerve to EVER claim you’re better than the rest of us? You haven’t yet demonstrated a basic understanding of how the world works.
Law school “rankings” are a thing of distant past. What matters now is what you can do with what has been given you. What I know is that I’ve had a rocky few months at UNT Dallas College of Law, but I have learned in my time at the school how to be a professional in the legal field. Can the Columbia Law students who made this frankly weak and completely backwards statement say the same about theirs?
I think not. And if I ever go into practice in any capacity, it would excite me to no end to end up at opposing counsel table to them.
Never again is now. Am Yisrael Chai 🇮🇱
