How did you graduate college? If your tech is not creating value, why are you doing it? When building digital products it’s very easy to get distracted by Shiny Things. You end up spending time and money on something that looks cool and everyone feels excited about. But it just doesn’t move you forwards. I always relish a #new #start...a chance to reset and to kick-start my momentum again. I love nothing more than getting a fresh new notebook (you can never have too much stationery, eh?!) and writing a new list of goals to achieve and milestones to tick off. September isn't just back to school for my kids, who will be starting their final year in lower primary (gulp!) and their second year in secondary (that feels so grown up!) this week. It's also a chance for me to stop and reflect on what I've done this year so far, and what is still to come for my business in the next six months (hence the excuse for the new notebooks!). So, that's what I'm doing today (well I'm CURRENTLY sitting on a cross-channel ferry, returning from a week in France, trying to work via their very patchy wifi!)... Anyway. Impact vs. Effort Prioritization: This framework helps us focus on high-impact, low-effort features first, optimizing resource utilization and delivering quick wins.
