Enlightening conversations today at Plant Based World Expo North America today at the iconic Javits Center in NYC. 🌱 It’s a fascinating time to be involved in this space, which is (rightly) shifting from being driven by R&D and tech to being driven by consumer demand. That being said, there was no shortage of innovation on the floor and the product selection was the most diverse I’ve seen yet. Also, a lot of conversation about how retail shelf space has fallen (or maybe right sized?) while demand within food service continues to grow…often driven by organizational and consumer interest in more environmentally friendly solutions (and occasionally health). Honored to have been able to host a panel with Andraia Torsiello, Philip DeMaiolo CEC AAC, and Peter Gilhooly. We delved into solutions to combat inflation through innovative plant-based menus (yes, this is possible), how to market items for different generations, and supply chain implications. As I'm wrapping up 2023 and continue reflecting on our key standout moments, I am very proud of the powerful partnerships we've forged and the impact we've made together. 🤝 In 2023, our commitment to sustainable #partnerships was stronger than ever. We've joined forces with retail partners like Dirk Rossmann GmbH GLOBUS Markthallen, and Müller Holding GmbH & Co. KG, as well as our NGO partners Trinkwasserwald e.V., and @SDW (Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald Bundesverband e.V), to drive meaningful change. One of our impactful joint initiatives is now in its third consecutive year. Together with Rossmann and Trinkwasserwald, we planted 5,000 trees to help stabilize weakened forest ecosystems and increase their resilience in the face of #climatechange . By planting a drinking water forest, we help to significantly increase and improve our valuable and vital water resources. 🌳💧 We've also expanded our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection by teaming up with Globus and Müller. Together, we're working towards our common goal of a cleaner and healthier world: With the help of SDW, we’ve launched several #reforestation projects, planting a total of 3,000 trees in floodplain forests. These forests play a crucial role in our drinking water supply, acting as natural filters and water reservoirs that increase groundwater recharge. They also serve as effective flood protection systems, absorbing excess water during floods and keeping our rivers clean. 🌍💚 The relevance of these #partnerships cannot be overstated. By working together, we can leverage our collective resources and expertise to achieve ambitious sustainability goals. Each partnership represents a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and a sustainable future.   Looking back, I am incredibly proud of what we've achieved together this year.
