On February 23, 2024, a collaboration unfolded as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Fred Pascual and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) joined forces for the "Accelerating the Adoption and Scale-up Electric Mobility for Low-Carbon City Development in the Philippines" (E-Mobility ASAP) project.
This transformative initiative was formalized in the presence the project consortium, including Clean Air Asia (CAA), De Lasalle University (DLSU), Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP), and the Urban Electric Mobility Initiative (UEMI)
🔗 The project aims to redefine the landscape of transportation in the Philippines, with a strategic focus on electric public utility vehicles (ePUV), electric two-wheelers (e2W), batteries, and electronics/software.
🌱 The overarching goal of E-Mobility ASAP is as ambitious as it is crucial — to bridge the price disparity between electric and traditional vehicles, develop sustainable business models, showcase cutting-edge charging infrastructure, and catalyze investments through strategic partnerships and capacity building. UEMI's role in leading the pillar dedicated to scaling up and partnership building signifies a pivotal aspect of the project.
Join us in celebrating this momentous step towards a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future! 🌟

2moGreat to see how emobility is now central in ADB and its member countries within so little time - I remember 8 years ago convincing ADB for a regional project where we did screening studies in DMCs of ADB for emobility options and this was for most countries an interesting but still quite novel option
