ABHI is proposing an ambitious HealthTech strategy to position the UK as a global frontrunner. The plan entails establishing a cutting-edge regulatory framework to drive innovation and ensure patient safety, professionalizing innovation processes within the NHS, and implementing a sustained investment plan to bolster sector expansion. Collaboration with NHS England and other healthcare providers is highlighted to streamline technology integration, improve procurement practices, and amplify support for domestic manufacturing and research. Additionally, there is an emphasis on enhancing digital infrastructure for early diagnosis and patient care, coupled with a strategy to enhance the international presence of UK HealthTech firms. #HealthTech #Innovation

This week, the ABHI published their Plan for HealthTech, proposing now as the time to build on the UK’s existing strengths and to make plans to address the challenges and future risks impacting the sector. Recommending steps to follow in order to make the UK a HealthTech global leader and a 10-point plan aimed at UK Government, the NHS and regulators, it also recommends the appointment of a government-supported HealthTech Champion to ensure our sector reaches its full potential to benefit patients, clinicians and our economy. 🌍💡 There are many similarities across the Scandinavian countries in terms of healthcare innovations. These countries boast world-class healthcare, cutting-edge life science as well as research institutions and advanced mobile technology 🏥🔬📱 This convergence of expertise provides a fertile ground for innovative digital health solutions. HealthTech Nordic published a practical handbook shedding light on the landscape of healthcare systems and markets in 🇸🇪 Sweden, 🇳🇴Norway, and 🇩🇰 Denmark which I earlier got to discuss with Aldo Vermiglio as part of our collaboration with Innovation Skåne. This handbook can be very useful for anyone to better navigate through the Nordic healthcare markets and for the health tech #startups in particular. Something worth highlighting is the overview of the customer landscape and acquisition potential which in all countries highlights similar challenges related to #reimbursement of #digitalhealth.
