IONETIC reduces battery development cost 10x. One-stop shop for battery pack design, test, and manufacture, offering tailored battery pack solutions to empower our customers to create excellent EVs.

How do you choose a cell for your battery system? 🏎️🌟 🔋 Choosing a cell is the single most impactful design decision you make when developing any battery system. There are different formats, chemistries, performance capabilities, costs, and system integration technologies. This makes the whole ordeal pretty onerous, especially if you're a small team.    🏆 This is why we make it core to our battery platform, Arc. We test different cells, different chemistries, and do that with a clear system integration strategy already selected. This means that when we test cells, the testing is representative of real world performance, not just what the datasheet tells you (PSA: if you're using datasheets to choose cells, you are picking the wrong cells).   🔬 We analyse the cell in a way that focuses on a production product (i.e. make sure it doesn't cost $500/kWh 👀), ensuring that when we make a recommendation to our customers, we can be confident that it's optimised for their needs. We're also building tools to make this decision quicker and more accurate so further reduce the development cost of tailored battery systems for any electrified product.   To give you a taste, I picked just a few of the cells we're evaluating at the moment to share in a photo. - Prismatic, optimised for total cost of ownership. - Large cyclindrical in 46XX. - 9 different 2170 cells from 5 different suppliers. This range means we know what quantitatively best-in-class means and can offer battery systems that are always optimised for you, no matter whether you're building a supercar, a bus, or something without wheels entirely. So how do you choose a cell for your battery system? Just get in touch with me or anyone else at IONETIC, and we'll make your life easier, knowing we're doing the work before you've even asked for it.

Greats stuff as always James. With supply chain being so vitally important, out of interested, which supplier country or countries are you able to source from and work with?
