Absolutely. This is so important and why we should embracing the platform mindset in all aspects. By adopting a platform-based approach. Rather than upgrading the entire ERP system, organisations can focus on specific modules and business pains to address first. The old monolithic ERP systems were like massive all-in-one software suites. Once deployed, monolithic systems were hard, costly and complex to modify. Organizations had to adapt their processes to fit the system rather than the other way around. Not to mention the customer experience which gave market to more sexy CRM applications like Salesforce Platform approach and mindset are fascinating from many reasons and this approach reduces costs, complexity of upgrading all in one and minimizes risk. If this was a movie we could make a similarity to almost classic Star Wars: “The Rise of Platform-Based Approaches”
